About us
Following 15 years in the heating industry, Ramtech’s founder, Gary Widdows, identified an opportunity to establish a specialist oil-heating service company. The business was founded in 1995.
At the time, oil heating was a niche sector that primarily served rural, off-grid customers. Ramtech’s client base grew quickly, including private domestic households and businesses in the light commercial sector.
Our history
In its early days, Ramtech earned a reputation for providing friendly support to heating contractors who wanted to offer more specialist services to their own clients.
Since then, Ramtech has worked with some of the biggest boiler manufacturers, supporting their field teams on an agency basis. These close relationships have benefited everyone involved, especially customers, as manufacturers’ technical support has led to better outcomes for all Ramtech clients.
Around the turn of the century, Ramtech began offering range cooker servicing to new and existing customers. This expanded our support to users of many other brands, including Aga, Rayburn, Heritage, Stanley, Esse and Redfyre.
Over the years, Ramtech has expanded its service and repair offering to include unvented hot-water tanks and underfloor heating systems.
For commercial clients, Ramtech has also worked on many brands of warm-air units, including Powrmatic, Benson and Combat.
In 2014, Ramtech moved from the centre of Cheltenham to the more fitting rural setting of Andoversford, closer to the heartland of its client base.
In 2025, Ramtech celebrated a major milestone: 30 years of service—and still going strong.
Our operational base
Located in Andoversford on the outskirts of Cheltenham is our office and warehouse. So that we can get you during bad weather we operate a fleet of vans, of which, many have a 4 x 4 traction capability.

Unlike many businesses these days we dont like keeping you waiting.
We pride ourselves on responding promptly to our clients old and new. Having a staffed office which is open during regular office hours is a given.If your in a hurry or its out of hours you can email us and your message will be answered.

It's all very well diagnosing a problem but were so busy we don't believe in putting off a repair if we can do it on the day. If our vans haven't got the stock our warehouse normally has. We often re supply in the field.

Pricing
We try to keep our pricing clear and transparent with our clients as we have recurring business to protect. If you have a requirement for service or help with a breakdown all you have to do is start the process by calling us or send an e mail. Let us know your boiler type and the nature of your request and we will be happy to quote you our fixed rates.
Normal routine service pricing is based on boiler type and size starting from £80. Consumables such as filters, hoses, nozzles and seals charged as per requirement.
We offer discounts for owners of multiple boilers and also persons who receive disability living allowance and attendance allowance.

We try to keep our pricing clear and transparent with our clients as we have recurring business to protect.
Once on our annual service list you will qualify for our discount tariff and priority breakdown response.
Prices for breakdowns and repair visits
If you have a requirement for help with a breakdown all you have to do is start the process by calling us or send an e mail. Let us know your boiler type and the nature of your request and we will be happy to quote you our repair rates.
We charge a flat rate for the repair task with the first 2 hours labour included. This is subject the charge for parts and materials plus Vat. Time over 2 hours is normally charged per man hour plus vat.
